Ireland for Cambodian Education (ICE) is a non-profit, non-government, voluntary organisation set up to support the Happy School in Pnomh Penh, Cambodia. It's aims are to raise resources to support the Happy School and to create awareness among Irish people about the Happy School project and life in Cambodia
The underlying commitment of the Happy School is to provide children with a safe haven in which they can just be children, to play, interact with kids their own age, paint, draw, learn the basics such as reading, writing and mathematics.
We are also committed to assisting suitable students to re-enter the state school system
We are working to build partnerships with organisations that provide vocational training so that students who are unsuitable to re-enter the state system can learn a trade such as plumbing, mechanics, carpentry, electrical repairs, hairdressing, beauticians etc
On behalf of all the staff at Happy School, the children and their parents I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has donated money or given their time. Your generosity has given these children a chance to have a better future.
-Paraic Grogan (ICE Chairman)
